Vollert insolvency: Two investors secure the future of the long-established Company

Investor process in insolvency proceedings successfully completed. Insolvency administrator Marc-Philippe Hornung, partner at SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz, has successfully implemented viable future solutions for the individual business units as part of a structured investor process. Around 190 jobs will be retained at the Weinsberg site.

The intralogistics and shunting systems divisions will be transferred to the newly founded Vollert Heavy Duty Solutions GmbH by way of an asset deal and will continue to focus on heavy-duty intralogistics solutions in the future. The new strategic partner is PKD Holding, part of the Czech JLF Group. Operational management will remain in the hands of the owner family.

The precast concrete plants business unit will be sold to the Finnish plant manufacturer Elematic Oyj, also by way of an asset deal, and will continue to operate independently.

“The aim of the proceedings was to create sustainable prospects for the individual business units and to preserve as many jobs as possible. Both of these goals have been achieved,” explains Marc-Philippe Hornung. “By splitting the company, two strategically compelling solutions were successfully implemented.”

Business operations were maintained on a stable basis throughout the entire insolvency process. The structured separation of the business units and the clear industrial logic of the transactions made it possible to achieve an overall solution that is viable for all parties involved.

The insolvency and restructuring team at SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz has many years of experience in insolvency administration for large and mid-sized companies, particularly in continuing business operations during insolvency proceedings as well as in restructurings through asset transfers or insolvency plans.
