SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz advises Mutares on the acquisition of two automotive supplier businesses from Magna

SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz, with a team led by partner Dr. Martin Kolbinger, has provided legal advice to Amaneos Group and HILO Group, both part of Mutares, on the acquisition of two automotive supplier businesses from Magna, one of the world’s leading automotive suppliers.

Amaneos Group has acquired Magna's European automotive lighting business as strategic add-on for Light Mobility Solutions GmbH (LMS). In parallel, HILO Group has taken over Magna’s car top systems business.

The European lighting operations of Magna comprise two manufacturing plants in Moncalieri (Italy) and Kostrzyn nad Odrą (Poland), as well as two engineering centers in Rivoli (Italy) and Ostrava (Czech Republic). In 2025, the business generated revenues of approximately EUR 200 million and employed around 1,500 people. Its portfolio covers rear lighting, front lighting, accent lighting as well as illuminated grille and panel solutions.

Headquartered in Bietigheim-Bissingen and with other locations in Germany, Poland, China, Mexico and Japan, the car top systems business serves a broad range of leading global automotive manufacturers in the sports car, luxury, premium and high-volume segments. The company is recognized for its expertise in highly engineered kinematic systems, particularly convertible tops, sliding/folding roofs and spoilers, and generates revenues of approximately EUR 75 million.

The transactions are in line with Mutares' strategic international growth and give way to sub-stantial operational and commercial synergies.
