SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz advises ebm-papst on the sale of its Industrial Drive Technology division to Siemens

SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz, with a team led by partners Prof. Dr. Jochem Reichert and Jan Friedrichson, provided comprehensive advice to the ebm-papst group on the carve-out transaction of its Industrial Drive Technology (IDT) division.

With the sale to Siemens AG, the successful IDT division will gain international market access through a larger global sales organization. This will open up new horizons for innovation and further successful business growth for IDT. ebm-papst intends to focus on its core business of air and heating technology and accelerate the company's transformation in terms of sustainability and digitalization as well as its international expansion. With this acquisition, Siemens taps into new business and customer potential in the fast-growing market for intelligent, battery-powered drive solutions in intralogistics as well as mobile robot solutions. All employees of the business unit will be taken over by Siemens. The transaction is expected to be completed by mid-2025 and is subject to foreign trade and merger control approvals.
