SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz advises on successful restructuring of the Joseph Dresselhaus Group under self-administration
Joseph Dresselhaus GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Herford, successfully completes its self-administration proceedings. On 19 December 2025, the creditors approved the insolvency plan submitted to the Bielefeld Local Court. Once the statutory deadlines have expired, the proceedings are expected to be concluded in January 2026. This marks the achievement of a key milestone in the restructuring process and lays the foundation for the sustainable realignment of the group of companies.
Marc-Philippe Hornung, Partner at SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz, has provided comprehensive support for the restructuring process since the start of self-administration in July 2025. He joined the management of the Dresselhaus Group when the proceedings were initiated and, together with Dr. Thomas Rieger (GÖRG), was responsible for the legal and strategic implementation of the restructuring.
The core of the insolvency plan is the entry of Torqx Capital Partners as an investor and the strategic partnership with Fabory, a pan-European specialist in fastening and connection technology, which is also part of the Torqx Capital Partners portfolio. The new shareholder structure opens up long-term growth and development prospects for Dresselhaus in the European market. In the course of the restructuring, the logistical structures and processes were also reorganized. In the future, Dresselhaus will focus on integrated logistics solutions with Fabory and specialized locations for different customer segments, among other things.
Marc-Philippe Hornung explains: “The approval of the insolvency plan is the result of constructive and solution-oriented cooperation between all parties involved. The combination of operational measures, the support of creditors, and the entry of a strategically suitable investor has created the conditions for a successful restart. Dresselhaus is clearly positioned and structurally well set up for the future.”
The insolvency and restructuring team at SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz has many years of experience in insolvency administration for large and mid-sized companies, particularly in continuing business operations during insolvency proceedings as well as in restructurings through asset transfers or insolvency plans.
