SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz advises Mutares on the acquisition of TREPEL Airport Equipment and MAFI Transport-Systeme

SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz, with a team led by partner Dr. Martin Kolbinger, has advised Mutares on the acquisition of TREPEL Airport Equipment GmbH and MAFI Transport-Systeme GmbH from NDW Maschinenbau Holding GmbH.

TREPEL and MAFI are global providers of specialised vehicles and transport systems for the aviation, port and industrial logistics sectors. TREPEL specialises in aircraft tow tractors, cargo high loaders and loader transporters for the aviation industry, while MAFI is one of the leading manufacturers of heavy-duty terminal tractors and transport systems for ports, logistics centres and industrial applications.

Together, the companies operate a production facility in Tauberbischofsheim, Germany, and a service location in Georgia, USA. With approximately 410 employees and a global sales and service network, TREPEL and MAFI generate annual revenues of approx. EUR 150 million.

Mutares invests in medium-sized companies and business units that are undergoing restructuring. The shares of Mutares SE & Co. KGaA are traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

The closing of the transaction is subject to customary conditions and expected in the third quarter of 2026.
