Creditors' Meeting of Galvanoform agrees to Insolvency Plan – Trustee Marc-Philippe Hornung content

Press Release Insolvency Law -

On 15 September, the creditors' meeting of Galvanoform Gesellschaft für Galvanoplastik mbH has agreed unanimously at the Local Court Offenburg (Amtsgericht Offenburg) on the insolvency plan prepared by the self-administration, allowing the company to withdraw from the insolvency proceedings soon. The insolvency plan includes saving some 140 jobs at both company sites in Lahr, Germany.

"The insolvency plan ensures the long-term continuation of business operations in Lahr and the preservation of all jobs. At the same time, we have met the creditors' claims in the best way possible. Given the current automotive environment and in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, this can be considered a great success", says Marc-Philippe Hornung, partner at law firm Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz. As court-appointed trustee, Hornung was involved in preparing the insolvency plan. Stuttgart-based law firm Menold Bezler advises on the restructuring process.

Since its foundation in 1956, Galvanoform has been a traditional company based in Lahr and has developed into one of the largest European manufacturers of precision tools. The company had filed for insolvency under self-administration at the Local Court Offenburg in December. Plans to complete the restructuring process in April 2020 failed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
